Wesleyhaven Village is a relaxed, friendly, family orientated village that provides a ‘continuum of aged care’, catering for needs ranging from independent living in rental villas to supported care in our rest home and continuing care in Wesleyhaven’s hospital.
Nestled in over 150 acres of park-like grounds stretching to the bush clad foothills of Naenae, Wesleyhaven is a haven to native birds, plants and, of course, its’ residents.
Boasting extensive gardens and glorious views from both rest homes, Wesleyhaven is peaceful, picturesque and can sometimes seem a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the ‘city’. However, Wesleyhaven, and its’ residents are still at the heart of Hutt City with the local shops just a few minutes away, and bus stops right outside the Village.
Open since 1953, Wesleyhaven was one of the first retirement villages in New Zealand and is one of the largest facilities in the Hutt Valley to offer a continuum of quality care on the one site.
Since opening Wesleyhaven has been home to over 7,000 people, and today over 120 residents can live, participate and contribute to Village life.
More ‘About Wesleyhaven’
Day-to-day resident care is provided by HealthCare Assistants and Registered Nurses who go out of their way to get to know residents; their likes, quirks, preferred routines and ways of doing things. In this way special lasting bonds and relationships are formed, which for staff make the role so much more than ‘just a job’ and this in turn is shared by the trust which residents place in staff.
