Notable Quotes – what people say about us

We don’t like to boast, however our residents, staff, doctors and residents families love us.

“I was told when I was looking for somewhere for my Mum that “Wesleyhaven’s buildings may be older, but their care is superb”  and it is so true – the care, compassion and love she’s received over the past 7 years from staff and volunteers is truly amazing.” (Family member)

“The staff are great, fantastic atmosphere.  We are treated like family.  Friendly, welcoming, warm environment.  Love the staff”.  (Family member)

“It’s all about the love.  It’s a positive spiritual environment.  We’ve captured a good group of people, some who have been here for years and years.  If you love what you are do, you’re on to a good thing”.  (Staff member)

“The people here are friendly. I haven’t seen one sad face yet. The staff are extra knowledgeable and very very friendly. The cleaners are very nice, Nurses are very nice, office staff are nice – everybody nice. The outlook is very nice – Living here is extra nice”.  (Family member)

We invite you to read the attached very special letter from one of our Strand Rest Home residents whose thoughts flowed early one Friday morning.  The resident (who does not wish to be named) has managed to capture some of the essence of Wesleyhaven that we sometimes struggle to articulate.

What our staff and volunteers say about us really matters.  A happy workforce will lead to better relationships and interaction with residents.

What our residents say about us;

“Thank you for standing beside me & my family, for caring for me and sharing your love with me. I have really enjoyed living at the Strand.  God bless you all.”

“I came here because of my medical needs.  I had to wait for a room at Masonic which is near my house.  I was able to make myself at home very quickly at Wesleyhaven and want to come back if I’m not happy at Masonic.  This place is older but very very nice – other places are flash but….. well, that’s their choice.  The people here are friendly. I haven’t seen one sad face yet.  The staff are extra knowledgeable and very very friendly. The cleaners are very nice, Nurses are very nice, office staff are nice – everybody nice. The outlook is very nice – Living here is extra nice.  My sons, and my daughter, and son in law and eight grandchildren and Indian Community are happy for me to be near my home and want to take care of me as they  live close.  If my home was next door I would stay here”

“Thank you very much for making my stay recently very enjoyable, you all do such a great job. Many Thanks” – From a resident who received respite care at Wesleyhaven.

After returning from the hospital “my things were still in the room I had been allocated for convalescence care… and I settled in very gratefully. My room had a large TV, a bookcase with books, a bed of course, two dressers, a lift chair and an en suite. Well situated in the home so that I didn’t have to walk far to get to the lounge and dining room.
The care and friendliness from the staff was brilliant. Their willingness to assist when help was needed was there and didn’t deteriorate even after two weeks of putting up with me. They didn’t complain when I asked for a cup of coffee at 5a.m. or when I requested a shower at 6 a.m. Awkward times I know, but I am an early riser.
Meals were really tasty – Paula is such a good cook!! Continental breakfast, choice of meats for midday dinner and something different every night for tea. Morning tea about 10.30 a.m. – usually a muffin or scone (Yum). Afternoon tea with a cake or biscuit and supper with a sandwich.
I found it was quiet at night and one could get a good night’s sleep, no one was pushy but they were there if needed. I was always treated with the greatest respect and everyone was kind. So, here is the … truth about Wesleyhaven … IT’S A CREDIT TO ALL CONCERNED. WHEN I HAVE TO TAKE UP PERMANENT RESIDENCE THERE (AND IT WILL COME) I WON’T HESITATE TO MOVE FROM MY PRESENT HOME AND THAT’LL BE WITHOUT A BACKWARD GLANCE!!!
– From a Villa resident who stayed in Strand Home for a period of convalescence
